I read a tweet the other day that made me laugh
“can I just skip past this generation?”
After seeing things like #FelonCrushFriday many of us are asking the same thing. But we can’t. We are stuck in the hashtag, selfie, felon crushin’ generation- and some of its really fun- andddd some of its scary.
I think the thing that made me laugh the most was the fact that people were actually scrollin’ through mug shots to look for cute people. Do you know you can go anywhere to find someone “cute”? I mean go in Walmart….(well maybe not Walmart) but pretty much anywhere else and you will probably find someone to crush on there (if you are that desperate) You don’t have to go through the jail cells.
I think looks are important, but they are also highly overrated. In this area, women are huge hypocrites (sorry ladies)- we complain that looks aren’t everything and we need to “love our bodies” and find “inward beauty”….but then we are so caught up in the looks of men that we pass along pictures of freakin’ CONVICTS. I wonder what would of happened if a man started that with a picture of a woman…..just a thought. Convicts need love too– but probably for other reasons than they took a good picture. And us gals need to practice what we preach. We need to emphasis the same qualities in men, they we want them to value in us.
Anyway- I know everyone is just being silly (I hope?) but hopefully this little fad will pass before high school rejects strive to be the next #FelonCrush.
